Kathryn is a graduate of Rutgers School of Law in Newark, New Jersey. She was a law clerk for a Superior Court Judge in New Jersey assisting in criminal and civil cases. She has also worked as a municipal public defender and was an integral part of creating a community mediation panel in New Jersey.

In 1989, she joined the firm of Bricks & Floyd specializing in real estate and family law. Kathryn opened her own practice in 2000 where she focused primarily in all areas of family law, including divorces, child custody actions, child support calculations, juvenile proceedings and adoptions. By 2008, Kathryn recognized that families enjoyed settling their cases using a more collaborative approach than a traditional litigation strategy. Since then, she has devoted significant effort to using mediation and collaborative practice. She is a certified civil and domestic mediator in the State of Georgia. She is affiliated with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution, the Ninth Circuit of Georgia and Cobb Superior Court ADR Programs. Kathryn is also a member of the Georgia Bar, Georgia Mediators Association, the Collaborative law Institute of Atlanta, American Bar Association, International Association of Collaborative Professionals and Association for Conflict Resolution. Kathryn serves on several boards of numerous community organizations including Family haven, a domestic violence organization in Forsyth County.

She believes that conflicts are roadblocks in the highway of life, but an attorney can be the one who moves those roadblocks so that you can get on with your life.
